Now I am an Industrial Designer, but I am also a film maker, game designer and publisher.
My design company, Pekota Design gives kudos to my father’s original name Eugenio Benjamino Pekota. World War II had ended but not for my father, being imprisoned by his own country meant no respite from the violence. His escape from communist Yugoslavia to Italy changed his life dramatically. In the process of being offered asylum in Italy his name was changed to Pecota.
Designing is a passion of mine and one that is defined by limitations (those technological and self-imposed). Perhaps I have been designing all my life, mapping out imaginary tree forts and drawing pictures of fantastical spacecraft. When I picked up my pencil for the first time, with the true intent of designing, there was no way for me to know the wonderful journey I was about to begin. Now the journey continues and is ever more challenging and rewarding.
